Tom & Gisele's LA Home...

Bypassing glamour and high style, the pair employed architect Richard Landry &  interior designer Joan Behnke to take a parcel of LA land and build a environmentally conscious family home from scratch.  In addition to composting, gray-water technology for irrigation, and environmentally friendly construction materials, the pair installed two substantial arrays of photovoltaic solar panels (one next to the garden, the other on the roof of the house) that would meet all of the property’s electricity needs.

"We built this house as a sanctuary for our family—a place where we can enjoy being together.”...

These adorable hand embroidered bears & bunnies are the brain child of a Cape Town women's dream to empower people in her community.  Each animal is crafted by a single artist and takes several days to make.  Thirty pecent of the companies profits go to the artists.  The company name Taunina combines the African word 'tau', meaning "lion", with NINA, an acronym for 'No Income, No Assets'... giving those who were once without income and assets the opportunity to become lions of their own destiny...
