For Japan With Love

When something so enormous and catastrophic happens, it's hard to know where or how to  help.  Enter ordinary, honest-to-good people from Ever-ours.com & Utterlyengaged.com who have brilliantly organized a movement to bring individuals together to make a big difference...

A bit about ShelterBox  - provides emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it the most. Each large green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items. A whole box costs $1,000 (US).

I've made my donation and you can too: http://www.forjapanwithlove.com/

Cheers!

It's Plantin' Time!

I am in awe of home grown vegetable gardens.  I have the perfect spot picked out in my yard to plant my own... and alas, I think another year will go by without me "breaking ground".  If only I could magically grow a green thumb and make it look exactly like this...

The most beautiful "chicken coop" I've ever seen...

Dede McGehee on her 120 acre property... heaven!

On the left... asparagus plants, chard and the most beautiful planting plan

Amidst the hens, 20 kinds of tomatoes, peppers, squash, okra, field peas, berries and artichokes are beautiful blooms of zinnias, dahlias, sunflowers, and hollyhocks
